Man-o-war jellyfish advisory

MANGILAO, Guam—The Department of Agriculture’s Division of Aquatic and Wildlife Resources (DAWR) would like to remind people that, due to high surf conditions, Indo-Pacific Man-o-War (blue bubble) are present along the island’s east and west coasts. Please be cautious of man-o-wars on the beach or in the water. They can still sting even if they are dead and on the beach. Jellyfish have also been spotted along the coasts. These are different from the man-o-wars and in many cases, less dangerous. If man-o-wars are seen, please notify the Department of Agriculture. Call 735-0289/91/94, or e-mail Rodney.Tibbatts@doag.guam.gov. Indicate if it is jellyfish, or man-o-wars (the blue bubble). (PR)
