The CNMI Scholarship board of directors recently appointed Mildred S. Camacho as the newest CNMI Scholarship administrator.

Camacho has been serving as acting administrator since the passing of former administrator Rose Pangelinan Camacho in October.

“On behalf of the CNMI Scholarship board of directors, we are very pleased that Mrs. Mildred Sablan Camacho accepted the appointment as the CNMI Scholarship administrator,” said CNMI Scholarship board chair Geri DelaCruz.

“Mrs. Camacho is a living testament of one who believes in higher education. She earned her higher education degree during her tenure at the Scholarship Office. She has years of experience in this office with the primary role in compliance. Mrs. Camacho was mentored by the late Rose Pangelinan Camacho who led this office for many years. We are confident that Mrs. Camacho will carry on the roles and responsibilities of the CNMI Scholarship Office in providing financial assistance to students of the CNMI,” she added.

Gov. Ralph DLG Torres also extended his congratulations to Camacho as she assumes this important responsibility.

“Congratulations to administrator Mildred S. Camacho for taking on this important role for our students pursuing higher education. I’m very proud of her accomplishments. Although she has big shoes to fill, I am confident she will continue the legacy of Rose Pangelinan Camacho and add to our collective vision of assisting our students,” said Torres.

Camacho said she is humbled by the decision of the CNMI Scholarship Board.

“I am confident that I will lead this office and continue the mission of providing financial assistance for higher education and continue the legacy and passion of our late administrator Rose Sonis Pangelinan Camacho.” (PR)
