Members of the Commonwealth Casino Commission unanimously approved yesterday the appointment of Andrew Yeom as CCC’s executive director.

At CCC’s monthly meeting at the Springs Plaza in Gualo Rai, commissioner/secretary Ramon M. Dela Cruz moved to appoint Yeom as executive director and commissioner/public affairs Diego M. Songao seconded.

Chair Edward C. DeLeon Guerrero, vice chair Rafael S. Demapan, and treasurer Mariano Taitano also voted “yes.”

Yeom has served as executive director in an acting capacity since the board delegated the position to him in early August 2020. He previously served at CCC as Compliance Division manager.

Asked for comments, Yeom vowed to the commission and the people of the CNMI that he will put forth his sincere best to carry out his duty as executive director.

Yeom thanked DeLeon Guerrero and the other commissioners for giving him the opportunity to take on this executive director’s role.

“I have been blessed to be with the commission for over five years now, pretty much since its inception in 2015,” he said.

The executive director said he has seen the tough challenges and struggles that the CCC chairman has endured up close.

“He handled some of the toughest situations with such dignity and professionalism, and I will strive to maintain the same composure or demeanor in times of adversity,” Yeom said.
