It’s just 10 days before Christmas and the Saipan Toys for Tots campaign is halfway through its collection season.
Spearheaded this year by the Associated Students of the Northern Marianas College in collaboration with the Saipan Young Professionals of the Saipan Chamber of Commerce and the U.S. Marine Corps, the campaign continues to draw partners who have stepped up to collect toys and monetary donations for toy purchases to support children in the CNMI this year.
One such partner, Mobil Marianas, recently donated $1,500 to the 2020 campaign. “With Covid-19, 2020 has been a difficult year for our community. Our Mobil operators wanted to support the…program this year to make sure that families, especially children, can feel the holiday spirit despite the many things that are happening right now,” said the company in a statement.
The CNMI Bar Association also donated $500 to the campaign, electing to forego its annual holiday party and instead use the funds “to spread some holiday cheer to the children by giving this donation to Toys for Tots.”
Since October, the campaign has managed over 30 Toys for Tots drop-off locations around the island. These partners are: Assurance Brokers; Atkins Kroll; Bank of Guam; Bank of Saipan; BankPacific; Bridge Capital; Bubba Gump; Calvo’s Insurance; Club 88; CNMI Homeland Security & Emergency Management; CNMI Mayor’s Office; Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan; First Hawaiian Banks; Gold’s Gym; Great Harvest; Hyatt Regency Saipan; Jesus Is Lord Church; Latte Built Gym; Lollipops; McDonald’s of Saipan; Mobil Stations; Northern Marianas College; Pacifica Insurance; Payless Superfresh & Truckload Store, Pena House; Saipan Seventh Day Adventist School; Saipan Vegas; Shirley’s Coffee Shop; Surf Club Saipan; Surfrider Hotel; Take Care Insurance; Tan Siu Lin Foundation; Tribe Marianas; and Triple J Motors.
All contributions will be given back to the community through collaboration with beneficiaries such as Karidat, Salvation Army, CHCC-Maternal & Child Health Bureau, and the Department of Youth Services. For more information on how you can make a donation or include your organization as a beneficiary, call 234 -7150 or email saipantoys4tots@gmail.com.
