Micronesian Games gold medalist Antonette Labausa led the CNMI Team that participated in the Oceania Weightlifting Federation Online Cup last weekend.
Labausa, who delivered three gold medals for the Commonwealth from the 2018 Micro Games in Yap, posted a total of 167 kg after posting 76 kg in snatch and 94 in clean & jerk.

She was joined in the competition by newcomers Raegine Camacho, Alberto Roberto, and Deion Sabino. Camacho totaled 148 kg behind her 63 kg in snatch and 85 kg in the clean & jerk, while Roberto recorded 65 kg in snatch and 75 kg in clean & jerk for a total of 140 kg. Sabino also did the snatch and clean & jerk, but technical issues in the virtual feed (competition was live) prevented him from recording his results, according to CNMI Weightlifting Federation president John Davis.
The CWF head added that last weekend’s tournament was one of the many online tournaments that the Commonwealth’s weightlifters have participated in since the COVID-19 pandemic struck.
“CNMI weightlifting wants to thank Anthony Camacho and his family for allowing us to use their residence to conduct our portion of the competition,” Davis said.
The OWF Online Cup drew 44 top lifters from 11 eleven countries in Oceania. (Saipan Tribune)
