Mobil Oil Marianas has recommitted its support for the Tasi to Table Youth Program by donating another $2,500 last Dec. 5 for the club’s eight-month-long program that aims to provide students an understanding of ocean preservation as well as the islands’ fishery industry.

According to TTT, Mobil sees the benefits of supporting the youth program, not only by donating funds for the program but also by serving as mentors and showing up to functions and events coordinated by TTT.

“TTT is honored to have Mobil as a continued partner. We have shown tremendous growth for our program to educating our youth with various facets that include fishing, the environment, and building up themselves within the community,” said TTT president Gene Weaver.

The students under the program are a mix of four of the Public School System’s high schools, which are Kagman High School, Saipan Southern High School, Marianas High School, and Da’ok Academy. TTT used to be under the Saipan Fishermen’s Association but has since been spun off and is now an incorporated entity.

According to Malaina Kileleman, Mobil Oil Marianas Sales & Marketing representative, she’s excited about the upcoming year for TTT because it is a great approach to engage the youth in fishing and the many aspects that surround it, from sustainability to research and job opportunities.
