Judy T. Aldan is new Clerk of the NMI Supreme Court

Chief Justice Alexandro C. Castro has appointed attorney Judy T. Aldan as the Clerk of the CNMI Supreme Court effective Nov. 23, 2020. Aldan fills the vacancy left by attorney Gretchen M. Smith, who accepted a position with the U.S. District for the Northern Mariana Islands.

Originally from Saipan, Aldan returned home after postgraduate studies and practiced law in the CNMI since being admitted to the CNMI Bar in 2008. She previously served as a Criminal Justice Program coordinator and instructor for the Northern Marianas College; an attorney with Torres Brothers, LLC.; and a staff attorney with the CNMI Law Revision Commission.

Aldan is a graduate of Timberline High School in Boise, Idaho. She obtained a bachelor of arts degree in Political Science with an emphasis in American Government and Public Policy from Boise State University in 2004. In 2008, Aldan obtained her juris doctorate degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan. She is married to Lucio Aldan, and they have three children.
