Bank of Guam is newest title sponsor of 2014 MMAC

The Bank of Guam donated $3,000 to the 2014 MMAC committee Thursday morning at its offices in Garapan, making the company a title sponsor of this year’s edition of the Marianas March Against Cancer.
Manny Borja, 2014 MMAC overall committee chairman, said that Bank of Guam is a longstanding title sponsor of the annual event.
“They have been a title sponsor for many years and they have been fully supportive of the MMAC and we look forward to working with them for years to come,” Borja said.
BOG vice president and regional manager Marcie M. Tomokane said they had been participating in the Marianas March Against Cancer event when it was still called the “Relay for Life.”
“BOG had been participating in the march against cancer for many years since ‘Relay for Life’ and we have been supportive of the vision and mission of the Commonwealth Cancer Association,” Tomokane said.
Tomokane said this is in line with the bank’s consistent support of other non-profit organizations.
“We have always been supportive of many non-profit organizations, and we will continue supporting the MMAC for many years to come,” she said.
Gov. Eloy S. Inos who was present at the time of the donation, said he is glad that many donors have come forward to support the MMAC.
“This is an event that the [Commonwealth Cancer Association] holds every year so we can be more aware of the causes of this deadly disease. I want to congratulate Bank of Guam for donating to the MMAC,” Inos said.
This year’s MMAC title sponsors are Bank of Guam, Delta Air Lines, DFS Saipan, Ltd., GPPC, Island Apparel, IT&E, Joeten Daidai Foundation, Marianas Variety, Sorensen Media Group, and Take Care/FHP. Its major sponsors are Brabu Pharmacy, Docomo Pacific, First Hawaiian Bank, IP&E, McDonald’s of Saipan, Precision Medical Imaging, Saint Michael’s Medical Response, Saipan Mayor’s Office, Traders Insurance Co., Hyatt Regency Saipan, and Xerox Corp.
The 2014 MMAC will be held on May 2 and May 3, 2014, from 6pm to 6am at the Hopwood Junior High School field in Chalan Piao.
