3 take lead for municipal council seats

Antonia Manibusan Tudela took the lead for Saipan and Northern Islands Municipal Council with 6,271 votes, Joseph Romaldo E. Santos is ahead for the Tinian and Aguigan Municipal Council with 827 votes, while William Apatang Taitano is the No. 1 vote-getter for the Rota Municipal Council, according to the Commonwealth Election Commission’s unofficial tally.

On behalf of her siblings as well as their parents, Taitano’s daughter, Deandra Taitano, took to Facebook to extended her “most heartfelt appreciation and love to every Gilita (people residing in Rota) who had voted for Taitano in this year’s general elections.”

“[Thank you] for allowing him and believing in him to be a part of a team that will assist in the improvement that will affect our entire beautiful island Luta. For that we are grateful,” said Taitano. “God bless our Luta and the entire CNMI.”

For his part, Michael Napu King Aldan, who is in second place for the Tinian and Aguigan Municipal Council seat, thanked all those who supported him. “I would also like to thank my family and my committee who for the last four months worked tirelessly to help ensure my success. Your hard work and dedication will be forever embedded in my heart,” said Aldan, adding that none of this would’ve been possible if it weren’t for them.
