4,500 checks worth $3M tax refunds released Fri.
The Department of Finance released last Friday nearly 4,500 checks worth $3 million in the second batch of tax refunds.
Speaking at a radio news briefing last Thursday, Finance Secretary David DLG Atalig said he shared information in report last week that the second batch of tax refunds would be coming in seven or 10 days. “I’m happy to report that maybe we should be releasing nearly 4,500 checks tomorrow, Friday [Oct. 30], for an amount of about $3 million and this will be the second batch,” said Atalig.
He disclosed that the third batch of tax refunds will hopefully be out in another 10 days.
The secretary said Friday that it will be a long weekend—Saturday, Sunday, and Austerity Monday—and that he hopes those who will be receiving their tax refunds will appreciate it.
Finance had already distributed close to $5 million in the first batch of tax refunds for 9,500 to 9,600 taxpayers.
Atalig earlier disclosed that they anticipate another a little over $5 million in the third and final batch to clear out tax refunds for all taxpayers that have filed returns and are error-free.
