Man who sexually abused minors is sentenced to 30 years in prison

A 39-year-old man who admitted to sexually abusing male minors in the span of nine years was sentenced to 30 years in prison.
As part of the plea deal, though, 15 years of Allan Aguon Lifoifoi’s sentence was suspended, so he will only serve the remaining 15 years, to be served day by day and without the possibility of parole, early release, work release, or furlough.
Lifoifoi pleaded guilty before the Superior Court to two charges as part of the plea deal: sexual abuse of a minor in the first and second degrees. The sentence for both charges will run concurrently with one another. Lifoifoi will also be placed on probation for 10 years after his release. He was also ordered to pay all court costs and fees that have yet to be determined and was ordered to have no contact with any of his victims.
Lifoifoi was also ordered to register with the CNMI Sex Offender Registry, submit to examinations and decisions made by the Community Guidance Center, and complete recommended courses of treatment deemed necessary by the CGC or Office of Adult Probation.
Lifoifoi is also prohibited from owning or using a firearm, any dangerous device or weapon, ammunitions, and Airsoft weapons.
Lifoifoi must obey all CNMI and federal laws as well as rules of the Office of Adult Probation or he risks revocation of probation and could face contempt of court charges.
The Commonwealth was represented in this case by assistant attorney general Erin Toolan while Lifoifoi was represented by chief public defender Douglas Hartig.
According to the plea agreement, Lifoifoi had sexual contact with an 8-year-old boy on or about Jan. 1, 2011, while serving as a legal guardian to the child. Nine years later, on March 7, 2020, Lifoifoi touched the private parts of the same victim.
Lifoifoi also admitted to having sexual contact with another minor on July 1, 2018, and a different minor on March 1, 2020.
