With the shift of the learning landscape and families now choosing remote learning for their children during the COVID-19 crisis, IT&E announced it provided free access to online learning platforms for students and teachers starting last Oct. 9.

In particular, IT&E-CNMI said provided data for unlimited access to three online platforms currently used by students and teachers.

This was be effective last Friday, Oct. 9, 2020.

The online platforms included in IT&E’s Remote Learning Program are:

• Blackboard Learning Management System (“Blackboard”)
• Blackboard Ultra (“Ultra”)
• G Suite for Education: Google Classroom, Meet, Calendar, Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Duo, Hangouts and Chat

“We remain committed to supporting our students and teachers. Learning remains vital and essential, including and especially during this public health crisis. It is also critical that we prioritize the safety and wellbeing of our education stakeholders,” said IT&E CNMI general manager Rose Soledad.

How the process works
IT&E’s subscribers can avail of this program if they currently have a wireless plan under the Student or Teachers discount.

Soledad explained that students and teachers in the CNMI are now able to access online learning platforms via the mobile application and websites on their mobile phones or by using mobile data hotspot and it will not be applied to their personal data consumption.

In addition, students and teachers get 10% off their monthly payment on a 24- or 12-month plan. They can choose from any plan, including Unlimited, 10 GB and 5 GB Data Plans.

To sign up for the student and teacher discount and free data for distance learning resources, students and teachers must simply provide their school ID or other verification when signing up in-store or upload the documents when signing up online at ite.net.

Details and a full list of acceptable documents can also be found at ite.net.

IT&E’s Remote Learning Program is also available as an add-on to select wireless plans for $5 a month. (PR)
