The national Weather Service in Tiyan, Guam issued an urban and small stream flood advisory for Rota yesterday morning.

Based on information received from the National Weather Service-Tiyan Guam and compiled at CNMI Emergency Operations Center-State Warning Point, doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to heavy showers on Rota mid-morning that were expected to cause urban and small stream flooding.

An additional 1 to 2 inches of rain were also likely over most of Rota.

If you will be driving, be alert for flooded roads and low visibility in heavy rain. If you see lightning or hear thunder, seek shelter indoors. Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Rota residents were cautioned to be mindful of the precautionary/preparedness actions and to stay informed on the latest statements and advisories. (PR)
