DPW to host LED bulb campaign on Tinian

The Department of Public Works – Energy Division Office will be hosting its 2020 Tinian Energy-Efficient LED Lighting Promotional and Educational Awareness Campaign on Friday, Sept. 25, 2020, and if needed, will continue on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2020.

The DPW Energy Division through its Energy Education, Efficiency and Conservation Program efforts, will be distributing eight LED light bulbs per household to assist residential consumers reduce the cost of utilities of their homes and to educate the community about the importance of preserving and protecting available natural resources in the environment through energy-efficiency and conservation efforts in the CNMI. LED bulbs will be available for distribution on a first-come, first-served basis throughout the day while supplies lasts.  

On Sept. 25, the event will be held at the Tinian Gymnasium Parking Lot from 9am to 3pm. If necessary, it will be done again the next day at the same location but from 9am to 12pm only.

To avail of LED bulbs, residential consumers must present a copy of a valid government-issued identification card and a copy of a most recent utility billing with name on account. If availing for a residential consumer who is unable to do so, an authorization letter from the account holder must be provided. Businesses, rental property owners or landlords are not eligible to receive LED Bulbs.

In addition, due to the continued threat of the COVID-19, consumers are asked to observe applicable health and safety related guidance to reduce the spread of the virus.
