The CNMI Department of Public Safety’s Bureau of Motor Vehicle will resume conducting driving tests for those individuals who were already scheduled for testing from March through May 2020. Driving tests will resume beginning Monday, Sept. 14, 2020. Office hours and continued services are listed below:

Monday – Friday
• 9am – 11am – Document drop-off
• 1:30pm – 3pm – Document drop-off

At this time BMV has about 250 pending driving tests that need to be administered before any new driving tests and/or written tests can be scheduled. Current diving test schedules will be administered on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday at a maximum of 50 driving tests per day.

The office has already begun calling individuals who were initially scheduled from March through May.

BMV would like to remind drivers looking to avail of the driving test, that vehicles must have the vehicle owner’s signature on the front (registration card) and at the back of the driving test schedule sheet (green paper) along with valid up-to-date insurance coverage.

The department will make an announcement once drivers written exam service resume.

BMV services continue to include vehicle registration and transfers, watercraft registration and transfers, and driver’s license renewals. At this time all driver written exams are postponed and will be rescheduled until a later date.

All individuals who are looking to visit BMV and avail of the services are required to wear a mask and maintain the standard 6-foot distance when lining up and around other individuals.

We ask individuals to make payments at CNMI Treasury on Capital Hill, or Revenue and Tax in Dandan before turning in documents, as the BMV cashiers window remains closed. BMV continues to accept incoming documents (vehicle/boat registration) and will be processing these documents for next-day pick-up.
