The Saipan Unity Lions Club, together with a member of Teen Unity Leos Club, did their monthly cleanup last Sunday at the club’s adopted Tanapag beach and bus stops. Together, club members collected a total of 14 bags of trash.
Led by club president Alicia Barbo and FVDG Lion Atoy Banting, a total of 19 club members were spread out in three different locations to pick up trash at the adopted beach and the surrounding areas of the club’s two adopted bus stop shelters along the highway.
After the club’s cleanup in Tanapag, Saipan Unity Lions Club members proceeded to prepare and paint empty drum cans for distribution to different schools on Saipan, in preparation for the upcoming school opening. The club will be distributing these drums for use as trash bins to beneficiary schools. This project has been one of the club’s community service activities, made possible by the kind donation of used empty drums from community partners like Pacific Islands Club Saipan, in coordination with its general manager, Gloria Cavanaugh, and Pacific Eco Laundry.
