Man arrested for criminal mischief at sports bar

Last Aug. 20 at about 9:49pm, the CNMI Department of Public Safety received a 911 call reporting a criminal mischief incident at a sports bar located in the village of Garapan. Police were dispatched to the scene.

At the scene, officers noticed a group of people gathered near the Paris Croissant bakery. As police approached the group of individuals they noticed two individuals restraining another.

Police quickly learned that the individual being restrained had just thrown an object towards the window of the Godfather’s Bar before fleeing the scene. The owner of the bar and a bystander heard the sound of glass shatter and noticed an individual running away from the scene. Both individuals managed to catch the individual and restrain the suspect until police arrived.

At about 9:59pm, Matthew Geisel was placed under arrest for criminal mischief and was brought to Kanoa Resort for clearance before being transported to the Department of Corrections to be booked and processed. (PR)
