Break-in at Saipan Community Church
The Saipan Community Church was broken into last Monday and police is continuing its search for the suspect or suspects.
According to Department of Public Safety spokesperson Dre Pangelinan, Saipan Community Church was broken into and the incident was reported at around 8:45pm on Monday.
Pangelinan said the search continues, with the little amount of information they have on the suspect who was described as 5’6”, a little muscular, in dark clothing, and had slightly long hair.
Pangelinan noted that DPS got the description from the witness, a teacher who lives in the Saipan Community School’s premises, who reported the incident. The witness said the suspect was seen for just a glimpse as he fled the scene.
When asked if anything was reported missing, Pangelinan said there was no report of anything missing at the church or school.
According to the police report, the witness told police they uncovered the break-in after hearing the sound of glass shattering in the distance.
As the witness looked toward the direction of the noise, they noticed the suspect, as described above, running from the scene. That’s when the witness immediately contacted authorities.
Pangelinan said the Oleai Beach Bar and Grill was also burglarized last Aug 18. As of press time, Pangelinan could not give additional details on the incident.
Police has no suspect or suspects yet on Oleai Beach Bar and Grill incident, but continues to investigate the break-in.
Both cases remain ongoing, Pangelinan said.
