Some 150 TanHoldings employees took part in a company-led cleanup last Friday along the Froilan Tenorio Beach Road Pathway, starting at the Oleai Pavilion and finishing at the pavilion across the JP Center in Garapan.

TanHoldings Corporate Affairs/Corporate HR vice president Catherine Attao said the cleanup is a testament to how the corporation cares about the islands’ environment. “TanHoldings has always deeply valued our islands, our communities, and our people.”

The TanHoldings’ leadership team recently attended a meeting with the Governor’s Council of Economic Advisors, where the role of “public private partnership” was emphasized as a necessary means to transform the CNMI into a “world-class destination.”

“At TanHoldings, we deeply value the word ‘partnership’ and we accept the role in how we can contribute to this vision,” Attao added.

The Froilan Tenorio Beach Pathway is one of the landmarks first seen by tourists when they arrive on Saipan.

“Many people drive by or go to enjoy the beach, to exercise, or stop. and take photos of beautiful sunsets. The Saipan Mayor’s Office has done a great job in taking care of the grounds and TanHoldings looks forward to joining their efforts in giving the pathway a deep cleaning of picking up trash and fallen debris on a monthly basis,” she said.

“We are grateful for the 150 TanHoldings employee volunteers who participated in this cleanup effort. Overall, we picked up approximately a total of 150 trash bags and a truckload of fallen debris,” said Attao. “TanHoldings believes in teamwork and we are willing to do our part in beautifying our islands. We would like to take this time to thank all the individuals, non-profit organizations, private and public sectors who take the time to beautify our precious islands, our paradise in the Pacific Ocean. TanHoldings is committed to this partnership and we strongly support GECA’s vision of ‘Together, We Can’ to make the Marianas a world-class destination.”
