The Rotaract Club of Saipan held its 5th Annual Induction and Handover Ceremony last Saturday at the Northern Marianas Protection and Advocacy Systems conference room.

The Rotaract Club is under the sponsorship of Rotary Club of Saipan.

This year’s 2020-2021 officers are Keoni Hosono as president, Genelin Camacho as vice president and also the immediate past president, Josephine Jetnil as secretary, Hillary Agulto as treasurer, Jaiden Santos as International Service director, Lynnaray Sablan as Community Service director, Richard Baleares as Club Service director, and Raynalynn Sablan and Joshua Mendez as club members.

The Rotaract year 2020-2021 theme is “Creating New Opportunities.” The Rotaract is the youth wing of the Rotary Club.
As the new president, Hosono said that his main thrust right now is to get the community to know what the Rotaract Club is. “I feel that it is very important for the community to know what Rotaract is and what Rotaract does.”

According to Rotary Club of Saipan president Sonya Dancoe, “I see a lot of young and motivated leaders here and the energy is overwhelming me right now because it is a wonderful experience. I hope you guys continue to strive and better our community.”

Camacho, as past president, said in her remarks, “I am excited for this new growth and development in the last several years that I have seen. In order to fully embody our spirits of service above self is to have faith, perseverance in service, understand fellowship, courage in leadership.”

Rotaract stands for Rotary in action and originally began as a Rotary International Youth program in 1968 in Charlotte, North Carolina. It is a service, leadership, and community service organization for young men and women between the ages 18 to 30. Rotaract focuses on the development of young adults as leaders in their communities and workplaces. (Chevy Alipio)
