Trendy hair color within reach

Mary’s Beauty Shop 1 opened its doors in Garapan 12 years ago knowing that good grooming and beauty routines play an important part in every person’s life. That’s why in 2018, they opened another branch Mary’s Beauty Shop 2 also located in Garapan.

They offer salon services for men and women like hair treatment, hair straightening, hair rebond, manicure, pedicure, foot spa to name a few; and Mary’s Beauty Shop 1 is also the home of master colorist and senior hair stylist Rica Lozarito.

For the past five years, Lozarito’s expertise in hair coloring has amazed regular and new customers. “I came from the Philippines and have undergone extensive training from world class beauty experts. I was a member of Philippine International Cosmetologist Association headed by the legendary Mr. Fanny Serrano, trained by Rodel Bautista and June La Guardia who are all the go-to for style and beauty by celebrities,” he said.

“I’ve been in the business of beauty and hair color for almost two decades and have worked in prestigious salons before coming here to Saipan. I continue to hone my craft and expertise by continuously studying current trends backed up by work experience and good work ethics,” he added.

During this time of the pandemic, Lozarito believes that salons have given the people in the community a place to find comfort and access to much needed self-care. “I also treat my regular customers like family and give them free hair treatment when possible. We have the best and affordable rates on island and people come here to find rest and feel refreshed after a session is done,” he said.

“Customers come to the salon to get their hair color and ask for my recommendations which they usually take and trust. I have learned humility and patience over the years because in this industry, you cannot please everybody… Customers give memorable comments and the best ones are the simple ones like when they sincerely say thank you for a job well done and refer me to their relatives and friends,” he added.

Lozarito said Mary’s Beauty Shop 1 and 2 adhere to health precautions such as sterilizing all equipment and sanitizing areas in the salon. “Wearing mask is important and we offer hand sanitizer right away to customers when they come in… we are open 10am to 8pm Monday to Sunday that’s why we make sure that our salon is always clean and sanitized to take customers everyday” he said.
