A total of 150 packages were handed out that day, according to group member Irene Holl.
The Friends of CWs has been giving relief goods to many foreign workers in the last few months and have completed distributions on Saipan and Rota. “We hope we would get more funding to help more households during these times,” said Holl.
The care packages distributed on Tinian contained canned goods, rice, butane canisters, milk, juices, noodles, peanut butter, cereals, toilet paper, and dried mango.
Holl said that six volunteers from the FitBeat Saipan team helped. “#FitBeat Tinian celebrated their first anniversary, so we all flew together and scheduled it to be on the same day as the distribution and anniversary,” she said. “We sincerely thank all the donors and volunteers for making the Tinian distribution possible. We thank Susan Perez and Rosita Aldan for coordinating the Tinian side, and Tinian International Women Association for hosting a dinner for the Saipan delegation.”
Among the group’s donors are the Tan Siu Lin Foundation, Micronesian Air Cargo Services, Rotary Club of Saipan, Allen and Susan Perez, Islander Rent-a-Car, Victor and Suzie Ngiraswei, Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. nurses, and anonymous donors.
