Group holds post-4th of July beach cleanup

The Northern Mariana Islands Council of the Tau Gamma Phi, or the Triskelions Grand Fraternity, held a beach cleanup last Sunday as part of their continued commitment to doing their share to help the community.
Close to 20 members led by NMIC chair Aired Murillo picked up trash from 7am to 10am, cleaning a five-kilometer stretch of the beach side from the Garapan Public Market to Quartermaster. They filled a total of 15 trash bags.
“We planned the beach cleanup and chose the day after the Liberation Day festivities on July 4. [We were] expecting some people might leave their trash behind,” said Murillo. “I salute all the NMIC TGP members that joined us in completing this project. I am very thankful for all the help and constant support that they give to the council.”
United Filipino Organization president Mar Masilungan and some of their members lauded the efforts made by the members of the TGP’s NMI Council.
Masilungan said that Division of Parks and Recreation director Victor Deleon Guerrero Jr. also sends his appreciation to the members of the TGP’s NMI Council.
The beach cleanup was also joined by NMIC TGP officers vice chair Mark Barahan, master keeper of the scroll Adam Centeno, master keeper of the chest Mike Gil Daynos, and master wielder of the whip Reden Zamora.
Murillo said their next project is to assist TGP brothers and Tau Gamma Sigma, or the Triskelions Grand Sorority, sisters who lost their jobs due to the COVID-19 pandemic. (PR)
