Seoul-based Asiana Airlines will have a special Seoul-Saipan-Seoul flight on July 27, 2020, according to the Marianas Visitors Authority.
The flight will be the first flight to the Marianas from Korea that is open to the public since the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in the suspension of flights on March 22, 2020. Two previous Asiana charter flights from Seoul were restricted solely to returning Marianas residents. South Korea is the CNMI’s No. 1 tourist market.

“According to our partners at Asiana Airlines, they have opened this one flight to the public, although it is expected that passengers will again be mostly returning residents. This flight is also going to be a direct and convenient way for residents to get to Seoul to make connections elsewhere, should they need to,” said MVA managing director Priscilla M. Iakopo. “We hope this is a positive sign that there is a returning interest in leisure travel. Of course, all inbound passengers to the Marianas will need to comply with the COVID-19-related entry requirements set in place by the government.”

The flight will depart Seoul International Airport at 9am, arriving at the Francisco C. Ada/Saipan International Airport at 2:30pm. The flight will then return to Seoul on the same day at 4pm, arriving at 7:40pm. One hundred seventy-four seats are available.
Bookings may be made through the Asiana Airlines website at www.flyasiana.com or local travel agents, or by calling the Asiana office on Saipan at 1 (670) 288-2625/2626. (PR)
