HOPE Recovery Center to reopen on July 6
The Substance Abuse, Addiction, and Rehabilitation Program under the Office of the Governor said yesterday that the HOPE Recovery Center will resume services on Monday, July 6, 2020.
Yvette R. Sablan, the special assistant for Substance Abuse, Addiction, and Rehabilitation, said that client homes and office spaces have been fully sanitized, and preventive measures are in place.
“As we are working responsibly with the challenges we having been facing through this global pandemic, SAAR has made interim changes within the program to ensure a continued quality of service. And while certain services will be limited or temporarily suspended, such as the Intensive Outpatient or outpatient treatment, this basically limits our overall services to our participants only. Acceptance into the program is processed and approved jointly by the clinical manager and the group home manager,” Sablan said.
SAAR certified clinician and clinical manager Dorene Kintol explained that the Hope Recovery Center is for individuals who need “a safe, sober supportive environment and structure to learn, practice, and integrate coping and relapse prevention skills.” She said there is individual therapy, group sessions, family education, and life skills. Case management is also provided for medication management, mental health evaluation and therapy, employment and vocational training, and support to address overall crisis.
SAAR Group home manager Jayra Manglona notes that the 24-hour staffed group home component provides stability and minimizes or prevents relapse or continued use.
“Our goal is to ensure that the individual can practice and improve their interpersonal and life skills, which supports their reintegration efforts,” said Manglona.
Sablan emphasized that SAAR is ready to carry on its role in helping people get the treatment they need.
SAAR is currently not accepting walk-ins at the moment. Contact the HOPE Recovery Center at 323-HOPE (323-4673) to schedule an appointment and get further guidance. (PR)
