- DONATIONS McDonald’s and Triple J Saipan donated yesterday to the Saipan Mayor’s Office for the celebration of the Liberation Day that will be held on Saturday, July 4, at the airport field. The celebration will also be streamed live for a virtual commemoration of the event. In a later statement, Triple J said it upholds a strong commitment to giving back to the island community. “Although 2020 has proven to be more challenging than any other time in history, Triple J’s commitment remains unchanged. We are pleased to be able to again support the mayors of Saipan, Tinian, Rota, and the Liberation Day Committee, who, together, coordinated the upcoming virtual festivities to honor those who made our freedom possible and to remember the resiliency of our local people 74 years ago,” said Mike Sablan, vice president for Triple J Enterprises, Inc. - LIBERATION DAY MOTOCADE-Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, Saipan still managed to push through with its 74th Liberation Day commemoration with its first community motorcade last Saturday, July 4, from Marpi all the way to the Airport Field, where a virtual Liberation Day celebration was held and broadcasted online. - CONGRATULATIONS! Mount Carmel School congratulates 2016 AlumKnight, Jonathan Pangelinan, son of Joseph and Maricel Pangelinan, who graduated with magna cum laude honors from Seattle University with a degree in Computer Science. As a student at Mount Carmel, he was active in National Honor Society, Dance Club, Theatre Club, Mock Trial, and American Red Cross. At Seattle University, he was active in the United Filipino Club, Marianas Taotao Tano Club, and Computer Science Club.
