Auto shop sues IPI

An auto shop has joined the long list of businesses suing embattled Imperial Pacific International (CNMI) LLC.

Yu’s LLC, which does business as Da Bao Auto Shop, is suing IPI before the Superior Court for allegedly failing to pay $38,512 in services.

Yu’s LLC, through counsel Mark Scoggins, asked the court to hold IPI liable to pay the amount plus post-judgment interest, attorney’s fees and court costs.

As of press time Tuesday, Saipan Tribune was still awaiting comments from IPI.

According to Scoggins in the complaint filed last June 16, IPI engaged Da Bao Auto on numerous occasions between 2017 and 2020 to provide service to vehicles owned and or controlled by IPI. Scoggins said that Da Bao Auto has provided the requested services to IPI in good faith, and in a good and workmanlike manner. He said Da Bao Auto has invoiced each and every service to IPI, but the defendant has failed to pay all invoices submitted.

IPI is facing multiple lawsuits in federal court and Superior Court from many companies for alleged non-payment of services and other reasons.
