Stop polluting the island!

I do not live on your island but have visited it many, many times in the past 25 years. I do have family that live on the island.
Every year I am amazed at how poorly the parks and beach areas are kept up. It is a crying shame that the people of Saipan seem to think it is okay to leave trash everywhere. If you can carry it to the beach you need to carry it back out. I have even seen that there are barrels to put trash in and yet they are too lazy to walk it to the container!
Is it that people are that lazy or that poorly educated to think that we as a human race do not have to take care of our environment? You eat fish from the very ocean you pollute!
I believe that perhaps if the local police would patrol these areas they could catch the people that are doing this act. Fine them and stay with them to witness them clean up the mess they created! I also think that if prisoners are allowed to walk around in public they too could be taken to the beaches and parks on a weekly basis and have them pay restitution on their crime.
If you can keep your beaches and parks clean perhaps more people would be likely to visit your island and spend money. That is a win-win for your island. If I didn’t have family living there I know I would spend money to go elsewhere! There used to be a huge tourist base. Look around! It’s a mess!
