Aesthetician joins Saipan beauty salon

Jojo’s Beauty Salon & Spa scored a coup of sorts after recently hiring an aesthetician from the renowned The Medical Plaza in the Philippines.

Ermelo “Mhel” T. Macadag-um arrived on Saipan just last April 4 and was immediately deployed to help beauty-conscious customers of the two-year-old beauty salon along Quartermaster Road.

As an aesthetician, Macadag-um is trained to administer facials, advise customers on makeup, and the care of skin.

He worked for The Medical Plaza, an appendage of Makati Medical Center, from 2006 to 2014 and also served as a skincare consultant for Meladerm, which is a famous skin-lightening product in the Philippines.

A graduate of the Classic School of Cosmetology and holder of an associate nursing degree at Arellano University, Macadag-um is currently a fourth-year student of complementary alternative medicine at the University of Makati. He plans to finish the course online.

This is not his first time in Micronesia as he also visited Majuro in the Marshall Islands for a couple of months to conduct skincare training.

Macadag-um said his initial impressions of the island is that it’s peaceful and has a relatively slow pace compared to the hustle and bustle of Manila, which is just fine by him since he was pining for a change of scenery. He can’t wait to help the local community with their beauty needs, especially in skincare.

Jojo’s Beauty Salon & Spa is also rolling out its newest service called Lipo Slim, a non-surgical slimming procedure that uses a machine Macadag-um fondly calls a “fat blaster.”

Lipo Slim, he said, uses no anesthesia, is not painful, there are no pills required, and is just a 20-minute procedure with guaranteed results.

It’s tailor-made to rid oneself of post-partum residual fats and is perfect for cellulite, double chin, flabby arms, and love handles removal. It’s also good for body and facial contouring as well as facial infusion of vitamins and minerals.

So far, a couple of regulars have already undergone the Lipo Slim procedure and, according to Macadag-um, they have been quite impressed with the results, with one client boasting she can now easily fit into an old pair of jeans after losing an inch or two on her waistline.

For a limited time only, Jojo’s Beauty Salon & Spa is offering 25-percent off on the Lipo Slim procedure as one session with Macadag-um and the fat blaster now costs only $75, down from the previous introductory price of $100.

While the Lipo Slim offers fast results, Macadag-um cautions clients that they would eventually gain back the weight and inches they lost if they don’t change their lifestyle. He thus espouses a healthier lifestyle and recommends eating the right food and regular exercise for customers of the Lipo Slim.

Aside from the Lipo Slim procedure, Macadag-um said Jojo’s Beauty Salon & Spa is also the place to be for acne treatment and skin whitening treatment.

He guarantees 100 percent that the beauty salon could help longtime sufferers of acne kiss their blackheads and pimples away. The skin whitening treatment, meanwhile, can be had for an affordable $50.
