LIHEAP now open to receive applicants

The Department of Community and Cultural Affairs’ Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program, or LIHEAP, is now open to receive new and renewal of applications. Contact Resel Billy at 989-2577 or via email resel.billy@liheap.gov.mp to schedule appointment.

LIHEAP assists low-income families through Commonwealth Utilities Corp. subsidy benefits for cooling assistance and energy crisis assistance.

Eligibility requirements: applicant must be U.S. citizen or permanent resident; applicant must be the CUC account holder; applicant must have a social security number; applicant must fall within the low income bracket

Documents required upon applying are: Birth Certificate or Passport for household members; social security card of all for household members; proof of income (three latest check stub); CUC bill.

The program’s business hours are from 8am to 3pm, Monday to Friday, at the Carolinian Affairs Office. (PR)
