The CNMI Department of Labor, in its effort to increase enforcement activities throughout all business sectors, finds it necessary to equip its Labor Enforcement personnel with communication devices for purposes of emergency assistance and for making contact with the main office while out conducting enforcement activities. Despite limited resources to procure such devices, CNMI DOL looks at other opportunities to leverage with other federally funded state partners engaged in security and emergency responsibilities that allows them to assist other state departments within the enforcement line of work.
The CNMI Homeland Security and Emergency Management Office Special Assistant Marvin Seman and CNMI Labor Secretary Edith DeLeon Guerrero entered into a partnership to assist the CNMI DOL Enforcement personnel when conducting DOL enforcement activities. This state collaboration initially secured five radios for the CNMI DOL Enforcement personnel on Saipan. Tinian and Rota is forthcoming as soon as more radio units are available.
