Your favorite classic Thai curries, pad Thai, fried spring rolls, chicken wings, hearty fried rice, and more awaits you at Spicy Thai located in Garapan. Established in 1996 in San Antonio where it first opened, Spicy Thai started off as a local hangout spot for garment factory workers.
“Gradually, the hangout spot turned into a small restaurant that had only two tables and it grew from there. We moved to Garapan around 2010 and started serving more of the local community and the tourists that frequented Garapan. The restaurant has been going strong for about 24 years now,” said Spicy Thai restaurant manager Jeane Bracken.
“Our staying power is probably the authenticity of our food as well as the quality. We try to make sure that all of our vegetables are of good quality and all of our dishes spicy. I also think a lot of people enjoy drinking our Thai milk tea.” Bracken added.

Spicy Thai is as strong as the spices that it serves. Being in business for 24 years and overcoming crisis and super typhoons, expect Spicy Thai to always flash that “open” sign at their door. “We love our community and it’s a wholesome place to work and live. The locals are our friends and family,” Bracken said.
“When tough times come, it is important to help the people around us, even if it is just serving food. After Super Typhoon Yutu hit, we had a lot of people stop by to eat and use our generator to charge their electronics. We understand that this global pandemic has caused quite a big economic downturn, so to help our customers we try to provide quality food at an affordable price,” Bracken added.
Like other restaurants, Spicy Thai is open for take-out only. Regular menu and ordering ala carte is available and for lunch, people can avail of their special Thai bentos that are of different combinations every day.
Samples of their bentos are: Shrimp fried rice, chicken Pad thai, fried veggie spring rolls, and fried chicken with a free soda drink or Thai milk tea for only $8; papaya salad (som tum), sweet garlic pork, white rice, fried spring rolls with one free soda drink or Thai milk tea for only $8; and fresh spring roll with ham for only $3.50.
“We have two to three different kinds of bentos, but one bento is always the same every day. They are available Monday to Saturday…we also do vegan or vegetarian dishes,” Bracken said.
