Man arrested for alleged terroristic threatening

On Friday, April 17, 2020, at about 11:20am, the CNMI Department of Public Safety began receiving numerous complaints of an individual who posted a threat of violence toward another person via video through an online platform.

Authorities began investigating after becoming aware of the video made online, and quickly identified Aziz P. Mettao as the suspect. Authorities immediately looked for Mettao to intercept him before he could make his way toward the individual’s home. Authorities found Mettao in his vehicle at his home and proceeded to secure him. At approximately 11:33am, Mettao was arrested for alleged terroristic threatening in violation of the Commonwealth code. He was brought to the Department of Corrections where he was booked and detained.
