Scheduled water service interruptions

There will be a scheduled water service interruption for portions of Gualo Rai today, April 17, 2020, from 8am to 5pm and in portions of As Lito, As Perdido and Koblerville.
In the Gualo Rai water service interruption, it will affect most Commonwealth Utilities Corp. customers located along Gualo Rai Road on the west side of the Gualo Rai traffic light Customers in the affected areas should expect restoration of water services soon after.
The purpose of the scheduled water interruption is to allow CUC’s contractor, AIC Marianas Inc., to connect the new 8-inch distribution main to the existing 16-inch main as part of CUC’s Gualo Rai Waterline Replacement Project. As a result of the waterline replacement, a more reliable water system will be provided to the community.
In the water service interruptions in portions of As Lito, As Perdido and Koblerville (from St. Jude Church to the ABCD Market in Koblerville), customers in the affected areas will experience low to no water pressure during daily peak hours from 6am to 9am and from 5pm to 9pm.
Over the past two weeks, CUC has performed leak detection in the affected areas to locate possible leak(s) that may be the cause the low to no water trouble calls. Two leaks have been identified and repaired within the last week; however, the pressure in the affected areas did not improve. CUC leak detection team will continue to perform leak detection efforts through next week with the use of correlators to assist in identifying other leaks on Chalan Monsignor Martinez from the As Lito Road intersection to the As Perdido traffic light intersection.
CUC urges customers in these areas to practice water conservation and to contact the CUC Call Center to report leaks for repairs.
