Thirteen contestants so far have confirmed their participation in the “Pinoy Super Mom 2014” competition, according to the United Filipino Organization.

“We are changing the age bracket to accommodate more contestants from 25 years old and above,” said UFO president Annamae Adaza.

The contest will highlight the celebration of the 116th Philippine Independence Day’s “Pistang Pinoy” on June 14 at the Garapan Fishing Base across Kristo Rai Church.

UFO is looking for 15 contestants on a first-come, first-serve basis, “so you don’t have to wait for the deadline,” Adaza said.

The competition will give recognition to all mothers who work hard for their family as well as honor women of power, women who are outspoken, can express themselves, and are career-oriented.

Prizes will be $800 for first place, $500 for second, and $300 for third. Along with the Top 3 places, the competition will also have eight special awards, winners of whom will also receive cash prizes as well.

Contestants will be judged based on four criteria: professional costume, which includes dressing up in the uniform of a profession or job, talent competition, evening gown competition, and a question-and-answer portion.

Those interested can get application forms at Saipan Music & Dance Studio in Garapan. Deadline for submission of applications will be on April 30, 2014.

The UFO is well known for hosting a variety of competitions. Past events that it successfully organized include the Miss Pusong Pinoy 2013, Super Pinoy Gay Models in June 2013, That’s My Tomboy in December 2013, and the recent Little Miss Pusong Pinoy beauty pageant in February 2014.
