Kanoa, TanHoldings shut down foes

Kansa Football Club and TanHoldings Football Club blanked their respective opponents in Division A of the 2020 Spring Men’s M-League last Sunday at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville.

Kanoa played in the last match of the night and shut down Old B Bank, 3-0, for its second straight win.

Three different players made it to the board for Kanoa with Andruw Omelau, Ian Maniago, and Joseph Rasa scoring one apiece. Omelau drew first blood for Kanoa with his shot in the 65th minute, while Maniago found his target in the 72nd, and Rasa closed out for the squad 12 minutes later.

With Kanoa downing the Old B Bank, the latter is still winless this season.

In the match preceding the Kanoa-Old B Bank, TanHoldings pounced on the hapless Victory, 17-0.

TanHoldings was on target both in the first and second half to wallop Victory and remain undefeated in three games for the solo lead in the division.

Martin Jambor powered TanHoldings to the lopsided victory after delivering five goals, while Mark Esalan contributed four.

In the first game in Division A, All Blue edged out Paire, 1-0.

Brian Lubao drilled the game winner with just six minutes left in the game, giving All Blue its second triumph while handing Paire its first defeat in the season, which is suspended indefinitely due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Meanwhile, Shirley’s outclassed Island Star, 2-0, in the lone Division B match played last Sunday.

Lalaine Pagarao knocked in the twin goals for Shirley’s with her first posted in the 28th minute and the second in the 37th.

Shirley’s got its second victory, while Island Star absorbed its second loss.
