Bank of Guam recently donated $5,000 to the Northern Marianas College Foundation.

The donation is part of the foundation’s 16th Annual Foundation Open golf tournament, which is scheduled for Saturday, March 21, 2020.  The bank’s contribution to the event will go toward helping the college with its recovery efforts due to the devastating destruction of Super Typhoon Yutu, which practically destroyed more than 80% of NMC’s campus grounds and classroom facilities.

“Bank of Guam is proud to support the college’s mission and vision through its commitment to its students and be the driving force to improve the quality of life through higher education,” said Marcie Tomokane, vice president/CNMI regional manager.  “Investing in our local college not only strengthens the growth of our people and the economy, it paves the way for a better learning environment for our future generations.”

NMC interim president Frankie Eliptico is grateful Bank of Guam’s support. “Our NMC family would like to thank Bank of Guam for their dedication to funding higher education.”

The 16th Annual NMC Foundation Open golf tournament will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2020, at the Saipan Laolao Bay Golf & Resort (east course). Showtime is at 6am, and the shotgun start will be at 7am. The tournament will follow a medal play format.
First place winners in the men’s Championship, A, B, C, Senior, and Ladies Flights will each receive $500, while $300 and $200 will go to the second and third place finishers, respectively. Hole-in-one prizes include a 2020 Kia Soul from Joeten Motors, and two $5,000 hole-in-one prizes from McDonald’s and Pacifica Insurance Underwriters Inc. The tournament will also feature many other items such as raffle prizes like airline tickets, meal gift certificates, gym memberships, and much more.
Registration and payment can be made at Laolao Bay Golf & Resort or the NMC Cashier’s Office. For sponsorship opportunities or registration information, visit marianas.edu or call 237-6833. (PR)
