Woman hunted for allegedly stealing from parents falls

Manuela Johnson Guerrero, a 40-year-old woman hunted by police for allegedly stealing assorted jewelry, a laptop, and rods and reel belonging to her parents, was arrested in Susupe last Sunday.
Guerrero was taken before Superior Court Associate Judge Kenneth L. Govendo for bail hearing for theft.
Guerrero was released upon her promise to appear in all scheduled hearing plus other terms and conditions.
According to police detective Eugene O. Dillay, last Feb. 20, a couple showed up at the Department of Public Safety’s front desk to file a theft complaint against their daughter, Guerrero.
Dillay said the couple stated that they went on vacation from Jan. 24 to Feb. 20, 2020, and had their daughter watch over their house in Susupe while they were off-island.
When the couple arrived back on Saipan, their daughter was avoiding them. The daughter then allegedly confessed that she took the assorted jewelry and laptop and pawned them. She gave the receipts to her parents.
She also admitted to have taken three rods and reel.
The total value of the assorted jewelry and laptop was $25,000, while it was $3,500 for the three rods and reel.
The father was able to recover the three rods and reel from a store. Detectives subsequently recovered the assorted jewelry and the laptop from several pawnshops.
