Head Start, Early Head Start now accepting applications
Starting today, March 2, the Head Start/Early Head Start Program will begin to actively accept applications for school year 2020-2021.
Head Start/Early Head Start is a federally-funded pre-school and infant/toddler program that provides comprehensive services to eligible children and families. The center-based program includes developmentally appropriate learning, family engagement, nutritious meals, health services and support for children with special needs.
Head Start serves pre-school children ages 3-4 years old on Saipan, Tinian and Rota. Early Head Start serves infants and toddlers age 6 weeks-36 months on Saipan.
To be considered for an enrollment slot at the opening of the 2020-2021 school year, the initial application period will end on June 19, 2020. Age eligible children on the current school year 2019-2020 waitlist will need to submit an updated application for the new school year. The school (eligible) age cutoff date is Sept. 30, 2020; children who will be 5 years old on or before that date shall register for Kindergarten.
