Rough seas seen until Wednesday

A small craft advisory is currently in effect through early Wednesday morning. Meanwhile, there is a high risk of rip currents through late Wednesday night.
Based on the information received from the National Weather Service in Tiyan, Guam, and compiled at the CNMI Emergency Operations Center State Warning Point, fresh to strong trade winds and trade-wind waves and swell will be hazardous for small craft the next several days.
Saipan, Tinian, and Rota coastal waters will experience northeast winds of 15 to 25 knots, with gusts up to 30 knots and seas of 8 to 10 feet within the Marianas coastal waters. Conditions will be hazardous to small craft.
The public and inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller vessels, should avoid sailing in these conditions.
Also, surf heights of 8 to 10 feet will maintain dangerous and frequent rip currents along east facing reefs the next several days through Wednesday night.
Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water.
The public is being warned that strong rip currents will be life threatening along east facing reefs. If you become caught in a rip current, remain calm. Swim out of a rip current by swimming parallel to shore, then back toward the beach when possible. Do not attempt to swim directly against a rip current as you will tire quickly. (Saipan Tribune)
