Black Wood holds anniversary promo

Black Wood Furniture is celebrating its first year of operations by throwing a one-day anniversary sale tomorrow, Feb.22, at its Koblerville store.

Store manager Dayoung Chung said every item on the store would be on sale during the one-day only promotion to celebrate Black Wood’s first year anniversary.

“Our promotion is 10% discount for all items on one day which is tomorrow, Feb.22, from 11am to 6pm.”

The sales promotion cannot be combined with layaway, gift certificate, and previous purchase.

Overall, Chung couldn’t be happier that Black Wood has reached this milestone. “Our first year was great. We have lots of return customers. It was not only about selling furniture, but also we have been able to share ideas, opinions, and lifestyles with local customers,” she said.

Since Day 1, Black Wood’s runaway bestsellers have been its shelves. “We have various designs, materials, and colors of shelves so our customers can choose [items] matching their space.”

Items growing in popularity among the store’s growing customer base are its dining collection. “We have expandable dining table with mix-match chairs. These are popular for people who want to save space for dinning room for daytime and also want to have big enough table for dinner events or parties,” she said.

When asked what’s been the biggest challenge they faced during their first year, Black Wood’s relative anonymity was cited as a factor. “Our store is kind of in a hidden place, so it was hard to let people know where it is. However, we have communicated to our customers by social media such as Facebook and Instagram so that we could advertise our items and location.”

Chung added Black Wood being a small business meant it lacked staff, store and warehouse space, and diversity of items. But, at the end of the day, Black Wood is most happy with the relationships they cultivated with customers in the past year.

“We have met a lot of great customers so far, so it is hard to choose one customer we really love. We sincerely appreciate all our customers, especially those who are interested in our new arrivals and keep visiting.”

She said customers are Black Wood’s No.1 motivation. “We are very thankful for our customers’ loyalty. Without our customers’ support and encouragement, our success wouldn’t have been possible. We are looking forward to continuing to serve them in the following years.”

Right now, Black Wood wants to promote its collection of new cabinets that can have multiple uses. “We want to introduce our new cabinet. We displayed them as shoe cabinets but it can also be used as a kitchen cabinet, a book cabinet, etc.,” said Chung.
