WSRES names STEM Fair and Paper Plane competition winners, judges
William S. Reyes Elementary School held its Schoolwide Annual STEM Fair on Jan 29-31, 2020 at the school cafeteria. A total of 28 projects in the General Sciences Category were eligible to participate in schoolwide competition. Congratulations to the Kingfisher STEM Fair winners:
AM Session (Kindergarten – 2nd Grade Category):
1st Place: Blow Up Balloon by Keziah Mallari, 2nd Grade
2nd Place: Homemade Hovercraft by Aldric Antonio, 2nd Grade
3rd Place: Lava in a Cup by Marq Hernandez, 2nd Grade
PM Session (3rd Grade – 4th Grade Category):
1st Place: Little CO2 Bubbles by Ulrich Servito, 4th Grade
2nd Place: Is Bigger Better? By Evan Cabrera, 4th Grade
3rd Place: DIY Solar Oven by Alyana Rotap, 5th Grade
WSRES also launched its first Paper Airplane Competition. Students competed with their classmates and a classroom winner competed against students in the 2nd through 5th grades. Students used a single piece paper to design by creating a blueprint and folding it to make their paper airplanes. The paper airplane that traveled the farthest will represent WSRES in the islandwide competition. Congratulations to the Paper Airplane Competition Winners:
1st Place: Angelo Nabanuag, 5th Grade
2nd Place: Daniel Leemarvin, 4th Grade
3rd Place: Leelan Litulumar, 4th Grade
WSRES will be sending Mallari, Antonio, Servito, Cabrera, and Rotap to the Islandwide STEM Fair Competition, along with Nabanuag, to compete in the Islandwide Paper Airplane Competition in March.
