Series of US Navy trainings in Guam

ASAN, Guam—The U.S. Navy will conduct training from 11am to 11:55pm on Jan. 13-16 in Dandan-Inarajan.  Residents in surrounding areas should not be alarmed if they see or hear increased activity associated with the training.

The U.S. Navy will also conduct open-ocean exercises from 2pm to 11:55pm on Jan. 13 at the following coordinates: 13˚26’N/145˚08’E and 13˚42’N/144˚36’E. All vessels are requested to remain clear three nautical miles from the above coordinates as this training will be accompanied by the use of live ammunition. 

The U.S. Navy will conduct training from 9am to 5pm on Jan. 13 in Agat Bay. The public is advised to be aware of small boats operating in the area. 

The U.S. Navy will also conduct training from 2pm to 4pm on Jan. 13 at the following coordinates: 13˚26’37”N/144˚39’32”E, 13˚26’38”N/144˚39’32”E, 13˚26’38”N/144˚39’34”E, and 13˚26’37”N/144˚39’34”E.

Vessels are advised to remain clear 500 yards from the above coordinates. 

The U.S. Navy will conduct training from 3pm to 7pm on Jan. 14 in Outer Apra Harbor. Vessels are requested to remain alert for military personnel parachuting and swimming in Outer Apra Harbor as part of the exercise. 

The U.S. Navy will conduct training from 9am to 11am on Jan. 15 in Outer Apra Harbor. This training will be accompanied by the use of blanks. Vessels are advised to remain aware of the training and should not be alarmed if they see or hear increased activity associated with the training. 

The U.S. Navy will also conduct training from 5pm to 11:55pm on Jan. 15 in Outer Apra Harbor. Vessels are requested to remain alert for military personnel swimming in Outer Apra Harbor as part of the exercise. 

The U.S. Navy will conduct training from 10am to 3pm on Jan. 16 in Radio Barrigada.  The public should be advised that this training will be accompanied by the use of blanks and practice hand grenades.

These types of trainings are designed to enhance the readiness of military personnel. Residents in surrounding areas should not be alarmed if they see or hear increased activity associated with the trainings.

It is recommended the public, fishermen, and marine tour operators also monitor the U.S. Coast Guard broadcast notice to mariners for advisories. (PR)
