Suspect in San Jose burglary is arrested
On Sunday, Dec. 1, 2019, at about 10:44am, the Department of Public Safety received a 911 call reporting a burglary and theft incident at a business establishment in San Jose, Saipan.
At the scene, police met with the caller who is an employee at the establishment. The caller stated that the incident happened the day prior and they forgot to report it. Police learned that the business establishment had surveillance footage of an unknown male individual making his way through the establishment and searching through the establishment’s drawers.
The caller stated that they realized something was odd when they noticed that only pennies were left in the drawer where they kept their money and coins. The caller stated that two cans of energy drink and two bottles of water were also missing. When the caller showed officers the surveillance footage, an officer recognized the individual and notified dispatch. Dispatch sent out a description of the suspect and known areas he frequents.
At about 11:41am, an officer conducting patrol spotted the suspect near the Marianas Visitors Authority building on Beach Road. The officer informed dispatch and met with the suspect, who then confessed to the burglary incident. The suspect was arrested and brought to the Department of Corrections to be booked and detained. The suspect was later released.
Ramon
On Thursday, Jan. 9, 2020, Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho signed and issued an arrest warrant for Jerry Ramon, with a cash bail set at $10,000.
Later that day, at about 6:01pm, police arrested Jerry Ramon in San Jose and transferred him to DOC. (PR)
