A small craft advisory remains in effect until 5pm today, Friday. There is also a high risk of rip currents along north and east facing reefs until this afternoon.

Based on the information received from the National Weather Service in Tiyan, Guam, the highest sea heights will be to the east of the Marianas and will linger longer farther to the north in the Saipan and Tinian coastal waters.

Small craft can be blown off course or capsized.

Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller vessels, should avoid sailing in these conditions

Along east facing reefs, larger breaking waves will continue to generate strong and frequent rip currents. The risk of rip currents should fall to moderate by Friday afternoon.

The public is advised to avoid venturing near the reef line, especially along north and east facing reefs. Large waves may knock you down and injure you. Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water. Stay out of the water. (PR)
