A popup shop/concert called “We Are From the Temple” that was organized by19-year-old Jerico Montenejo on the evening of Dec. 30 at the Pedro P. Tenorio Multi-Purpose Center in Susupe showcased several homegrown talents that ranged from singing to dancing and even a magic show.
Montenejo, who is also the owner of clothing brand “Temple: A Canvas to Wear,” said he spent countless hours of free time to make sure that the event lived up to his expectations. “I feel very grateful, blessed, inspired, and just grateful,” he said after the night’s event.
“I believe it was an amazing kickstart to Jerico’s very promising future of his business. Jerico’s passion for art and performing truly inspired me and surely inspired the many talented performers that were featured in the showcase as well,” said one of the performers, Neil Fama.
One member of the audience said it was a great way to showcased the many talents on the island. Being in the audience, I felt comfortable and I appreciated the music from the live band and the different styles of dancing. Knowing that this was the first of many shows makes me excited to see what the future holds for the Temple,” he said.
Helping Montenejo organize the event were Saipan Music and Dance Studio, 29:11, Kontagious Mindz, The Templates (Temple’s band), Profound Bandits, Fama, CNMI’s Got Talent winner Shane Sabino, and more.
The event was sponsored by IT&E and Bridge Capital LLC.
