The Division of Youth Services has pushed back a plan to make the Kagman Community Center in Kagman available to the public for any kind of event that will benefit families and children of all ages.

DYS initially intended to open up the facility to the public in January 2020. However, due to past storms, such as Typhoon Soudelor and Super Typhoon Yutu, this had to be pushed back to March 2020.

According to DYS administrator Vivian Sablan, DYS plans to host activities and programs such as parenting classes, their Summer Youth Empowerment camps, children’s program, and more at KCC.

DYS hopes to have the facility functioning at 100% by March 2020 so that their community partners have access to the facility. They also encourage people who aren’t in the Kagman area to use the facility as long as it’s non-profit.

They are also open to having volunteers to help supervise children and assist in any activities. (Justine Nauta)
