Christopher Timmons, the chief of the Office of the Attorney General’s Civil Division, is leaving the OAG.

OAG information officer Carla Torres confirmed with Saipan Tribune Friday that Timmons is not renewing his contract and that his last day of office is sometime in January 2020.

Deputy attorney general Lillian A. Tenorio will take over Timmons as counsel for Department of Public Safety Commissioner Robert Guerrero in connection with inmate Reynaldo A. Manila’s lawsuit against Guerrero and others.

As of press time last night, Saipan Tribune was still awaiting Timmons’ response on why he is leaving the OAG.

Peterburg

Then-assistant attorney general Benjamin Petersburg also left the OAG’s Civil Division recently to join the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Guam.

Assistant attorney general Jose S. P. Mafnas Jr. will replace Petersburg as the counsel for Department of Corrections officials Jose Pangelinan and Georgia Cabrera in Manila’s lawsuit.
