With Christmas coming up, what do you wish for the community?
“I wish for more street lights for the community. Also, for more lights where the crosswalks are at so that we can see the pedestrians more clearly. I wish for the community to also clean up after themselves if they’re having a party in a public area. If we can lead by example and clean up after ourselves, then the tourists would follow what we do.”
— Jonathan Borja, 23
“I wish for the community to be more aware of littering. We need to have more trash bins so our community can be cleaner. Also, we should have adults teach the younger generation about keeping our islands clean and green, so that our tourists can see the nice views of our lands and beaches and always come back because our island is clean. We can also be more proud to tell people about our beautiful island.”
—Matthew Iguel, 29
“For this Christmas season, I wish for everyone in our community to spread love, be kind to one another, and to keep our environment clean while having their holiday celebrations.”
—Lizelle Cruz, 20
“I wish that we can have better roads for our community. Our roads nowadays have potholes or cracks and it would be beneficial to our community and our tires if we could have better roads. I also wish that we could fix up tourist sites and make it more beautiful. That way, we could attract more tourists and be proud of what our islands have to offer.”
—Neil Fama, 21
“I wish the community could be more courteous this Christmas. There are many people out there working on the holidays, so if you’re eating out, you should always be kind to your waiters/waitresses or if you’re shopping at any store, you should be kind to their workers. Be kind to our law enforcers as well, since they’re out on the field and won’t be spending the holidays with their families.”
