To increase awareness about maintaining good health and to promote education on disease prevention, the National Youth Movement for West Philippine Sea, US Pinoys for Good Governance, National Federation of Filipino American Associations-Marianas chapter (CNMI and Guam), BAYANi (Bayan Bago Sarili) and the Asian Community of the CNMI will be holding a free three-hour health screening on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2019, from 8am to 11am, at San Antonio Parish Social Hall in San Antonio, Saipan.

Registration starts at 7:30am and will be continuing until 10am.

People who would like to avail of the blood sugar tests are advised to refrain from eating and drinking, preferably 12 hours prior to the actual testing.

Free screenings that will be available at the site are for blood pressure, pulse rate, oxygen saturation level using pulse oximetry test, blood sugar, weight, height, and body mass index.

“It is important for our community members to take advantage of the free health screening services. …Knowing where your health stands help you start realistic personal health goals and encourage our community members to take charge of their health. Further, providing such free health screenings are part of building healthier communities,” said Dr. Celia Lamkin, who leads many of these groups.

These organizations have been providing free health screenings for the past 10 years in the CNMI.

“It was only last year when we were not able to conduct such free health screenings because Mr. Lamkin and I were also victims of Super Typhoon Yutu,” said Lamkin. “We are committed to providing free health screening services to all members of the community regardless of race, ethnicity, nationality, citizenship, disability and religion.” (PR)
